iDEALS CHINA INSIDER has taken photos which should once and for all verify the iPhone 3G size and the position of the new camera and sensors.

The photos below are of GRIFFIN TECHNOLOGY’S new Flex GRIP iPhone 3G silicone case mold and the iPhone 3G specs to fill that case. (For those who are unfamiliar, GRIFFIN is considered to be the most creditable company in the iPod accessory business). These pictures will verify the iPhone 3G size and sensors and the position of the new camera. GRIFFIN’S body fitting Flex Grip case can only be made once they have the exact shape and size of the iPhone 3G. The molds are finished and they have been manufacturing cases.

(Notice the large size of the opening at the front top of the case. This is where the sensors and new camera are located)

(images are in proportion but not 1 to 1)

How long does it take to develope a silicone case?

Time require to produce a silicone case:

    • 1 day to buy the new phone 3G
    • 2 days to computer scan the iPhone
    • 1 day to make the model of the mold
    • 8 to 10 days to make the mold
    • 500 to 1000 cases can be produced per day per mold
    • 3 to 5 days to express air the products to the maker

ALL TOTALED, it would take approximately 14 to 19 days from the time the company is in possession of a iPhone 3G or its specs. A plastic case takes 25 days to bring to market if everything goes smooth. Of course this time line does not calculate the time this company spent design a case that is going to win your hearts.

I don't think Griffin would do this intentionally.

Something not right these days with Griffin... lowest grades of iPhone/iPod accessories you find in Hongkong are made by Griffins or sold or Authorised by Griffin or whatever.

Now they have been caught Cheating here.

This seems light the end of mighty Griffin.

We are an American company, we have our own people in Guang Dong but we cannot get the information that Griffin has. Now it is too late. On Monday everyone will have the real thing but we will all be a few weeks behind Griffin. I think that's not fair.

If they did get some inside information and used it to buy stock and the stock went up and they found out that they got their information from Apple then there could be some problems.
